HALL BROS MARCH NEWSLETTER
I hope everyone is enjoying the winter months. We have to go through this every year. Keep the sprit. It is hard facing this weather every day, but you know that is what makes truck driving so much FUN. The one thing about trucking is that every day is different. I want you to know that we do understand what you are going through. We are known for always going the extra mile and you guys are doing that every day
now. The difficulties you encounter when you are driving this winter
will only make you a better driver in the long term. You know when this winter is over and you look back, you will be proud of what you have accomplished.
Life is tough and driving in the winter is always trying. I can remember talking with older truck drivers over the years and they always have winter stories to tell. They are always proud of what they had to go through to get the job done. There are not many jobs that you can look back and say, "I did this when others failed." You are in one of those occupations where you do the hard work and no one says "thank you." Remember it is just 25 days until Spring.
By the way,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORT THIS WINTER.

Drivers please focus on your driving!
CSA scores have taken a horrible turn. We have spent two years driving these scores down and in a little over a month the scores are back to alert status. I beg you guys to slow your speed down and keep your log books legal. You have to realize how this is going to impact your job. I had my insurance renewal and there are two drivers that they would not insure because of their speeding issues. We have also seen a 50% increase in accidents in the first two months of this year compared to the last three years. I am asking everyone to be safe and really focus on their driving. I think everyone should look at the way they are driving.

Landing Gear
Please be sure to crank landing gears all the way up when you are pulling a trailer. I had a driver call and want me to relay the message to everyone. Snow sludge is making it hard to crank the landing gears. Thanks.

Wow! The weather has been brutal out there on the road. I want to say thank you for the great Imagejob everyone has done. I know that snow, ice and cold are not flin for anyone, especially for you out there driving on these roads. We did an excellent job of taking care of our customers during this very difficult time and it would not have happened without the dedication of our drivers ! Thanks again.
We finished out the fiscal year with Lowe's rated as a Platinum carrier, their top goal, Once again thanks to all the drivers. During the month of January we delivered 2467 loads which is up from a year ago in January by 250 loads. This coming year looks very promising for all.
Once again and I know you have all heard this before but we need more drivers. Please help us! If anyone has any ideas on ways to recruit drivers, please let us know. In the past it has always been our drivers that have been the best recruiters. Stay safe!
ImageImageSpeaking of being safe it has been brought to my attention that in the last month we have had several moving violations. VE speeding tickets, following to close, and even a third lane violation. This takes money right out of your pockets and goes directly against your driving records, plus Hall Bros scores. We fry to make sure we give every driver on every load plenty of time to get to their destination without speeding. If anyone knows of a load that they do not have time to make the delivery without speeding please give me a call and we will get that changed, We want all of you to keep your own money, the state and federal governments take enough the Imageway it is.
Thanks, Johnny
Recruiting
It has been said a hundred times before and I am going to say it again... we need more drivers! ! ! They say that driving a fruck is the hardest part of the 'trucking operation." I will go out on a limb and say recruiting takes second place. It is very, VERY hard to find quality truck drivers like each and every one of you that have HALL BROS on the side of your trucks. We are not your ordinary trucking company. As Johnny stated above... Lowes rated us a "Platinum" carrier for the fiscal year. We are not an ordinary trucking company because you are not ordinary truck drivers. You have always held yourself to higher standards and in return, we always succeed.
My goal by May 1 st is to be at 100 frucks. We are at 88 right now, with your help, I know we can do it. I would like to thank Dennis Howell, Chris Darnell, Joe Ryman, and Doug Russell who have all sent drivers to me this past month. I would also like to welcome Jimmy Thompson, William Austin, Letitia Alexander, and John Lawson to the company. Glad to have you here.

ImageI've gotten more opportunities for bidding in the last month than I have in the last six months but I've had to turn them down due to the shortage of drivers and equipment. These are large companies that we've all heard of, too. We are receiving these primarily due to the fact that reliability and dependability are being scrutinized more now than ever and business is not just being given to the cheapest carrier. That is what Hall Bros. is known for and why our name is being brought up in Transportation meetings across the country. More drivers does not mean less miles it means more opportunity to grow with these companies, thus actually even more miles. The business is there but we have to be able to give these companies 100% of our resources and not anything less. More good drivers equals more good opportunities. If anyone would like to sit down and discuss over a cup of coffee or a meal, please feel free to email me at Imageand we'll set up a ImageLet's be careful out there!
Thanks, Robin
